Hi,

Several months ago I had the LeForte I procedure you are talking about

plus extra palatial widening and lower jaw advancement with

genioplasty. Let me tell you, it was not pleasant but it wasn't

unbearable either. In my case the swelling is almost all gone but I

still cannot feel my upper teeth or upper palate, and the upper palate

is a drastically different shape - kind of domed downward instead of

upward. I think the only thing that got to me was during the surgery

alot of blood flows down to your stomach and stays down there for a

little while...So for about three days I was vomiting up blood that was

rancid and terrible - either that or I had this suction tube in the

hospital to suck all the blood out of my mouth periodically. That was

the only thing that really got to me. Either way, go through with it,

once your done it will be as if it never happened at all.

Cheers,

Milan

Hi ,

I am preop also. I think this site is wonderful for helping you get

the information and personal experience of others going through

something you are also scheduled for. It has really helped me be a

part of the process rather than relying completely upon my surgeon

(I have only seen my OMS once also), and my OD. I like having a

better understanding of the physical, cosmetic, functional and

recovery results of the process. I helps ease the fear of the

unknown. So as another preop, I wanted to send you a welcome to the

board. Good luck with your research!

Hugs,

Fran
