Beth,

I'm a rule breaker

You know that rule we have that says something like, "NO GETTING SICK". Oooops guess I'm not good at following rules. I just got home from my primary's office and I have a lovely sinus infection and conjunctivitis. I just dropped a fist full of prescriptions at the pharmacy and I'm about to kick back for a couple of hours in the recliner. I'm whooped. Oh and I didn't mention that this morning I had a 'suspicious' mole excised from my back so I've got 11 sutures in my back and a big ole bandage.

All in all this has been kind of a sucky day. I will respond to posts later on but for now I need a nap!

Love to all!

So sorry about your sucky day. Glad you're getting meds for the

infection and conjunctivitis. I know you're anxious about the mole too.

is seeing the dermatologist over one much like you described in a

couple of weeks.

Beth -

We all take our turns 'breaking the rules'. Just try to keep it reasonable, OK?

I finally got rid of my sinus infection. I went two weeks without my CPAP

because it was impossible to sleep with the sinus infection and CPAP. I used my

concentrator with nasal cannula to sleep. It feels so much better to be on my

CPAP once again. I have a local PF support group meeting tomorrow. It is only

my second. They don't meet real often (last one was in Sept of '09). It is run

by doctors and nurses at the University of Utah right now. They have a guest

speaker. Should be interesting. Is a fledgling effort, but some of these

people are so lost. I gave out this address to some of the members. There are

things that this group provides council on that just can not be provided by

doctors and nurses, no disrespect intended. It is just so much more comfortable

talking with everyone here. We are all in the same boat. Now... Beth,

take it easy and do whatever it takes to get better. We enjoy your company on

this board and you are a great moderator!!

Geeta,

Going ahead and getting the excision done was a judgement call on my part. It had been scheduled since late Novemeber. I suspected a sinus infection based on sinus pain and a bit of drainage. I had no fever though and when I discussed it with the dermatologist yesterday morning we decided to go ahead.

In between seeing my derm in the morning and my primary in the afternoon I did go to the gym. I wore both a mask and gloves as I suspected the sinus infection. I did my walking and participated in my exercise class but stayed away from the weight equipment.

I had no idea I had conjunctivitis (which is an eye infection by the way not anything to do with my hands). My primary saw early signs of conjunctivitis and gave me antibiotic drops to treat it.

Today is a DAY OF REST, no doctors, no gym. I will walk the dog and that's all. My back is sore but that's to be expected. My tomorrow I imagine my head and nose will be feeling better. Right now I'm just tired and sore all over. Thanks for all the good wishes!

Beth, sorry to hear about your recent travails. I have no doubts about your ability to take care

of yourself. I had to cancel my January appointment with Dr. on. I am now scheduled for

March 11. So I'll be in the area for a couple weeks then. Bringing a load of furniture preporatory to the big move. Jack79/IPF - UIP/dx06/05 Maine
