I'm not sure about the different devices you're describing.

We were offered the Genotropin pen when Bran's GH ws first ordered. This was

the device we got our training with. It has a rubber tip that you can use to

hide the needle. However, Dr H was totally against this. Her reasoning is

that our kids are so small when they start GH, that you need to be able to

do minute adjustments in dose, and you can't do that with the pen. For

example, she wanted Bran started on .35mg/kg, but with the pen device we

could only choose .3mg/kg or .4mg/kg, so our Endo here chose the lower dose.

Dr considered the " bare minimums " that she would accept.

When we saw Dr H at the convention, she insisted that we move to the insulin

syringes with a 31 gauge needle, and the Inject-Ease. With this you draw

however many units you're supposed to use into the syringe, let it warm to

room temp, load the syringe into the Inject-Ease, and administer the shot.

It's quick and easy.

I hope this helps. As posted earlier, if you " Google " inject-ease, you can

get a web site with a picture of the device, and instructions on how to use

it.

More and more of the insurance companies are forcing the choice of GH

to whatever they can get the best price on. It looks like we are

going to be forced to switch to norditropin which will mean that we

cannot adjust 's GH the way we want/need to based on his size.

They also use a pen type device which we will need to learn to us.
