Guest guest
I think this is a good question, so I'm posting it even though the asker is not quite yet a grad. :-) Z Open RNY 09/17/01 http://www.ziobro.us ________________________________ From: Hawkridge Dear Grads - I have a question for all of you who have or had the oil slick problem. Do you have a healthy gall bladder? (As far as you know, anyway.) Since the purpose of bile is to emulsify fat for digestion, it seems to me that there is a shortage of bile, or something like that. My theory is that this means your gall bladder is not healthy. According to my naturopath, we need to eat onions, garlic, carrots, beets, and asparagus to make the gall bladder empty itself, and prevent stones or sludge in the gall bladder. I usually eat one or more of these everyday, and while on a trip this summer, I didn't have access to veggies, or my beloved pickled garlic, usually not even garlic powder. During this trip, I also had the *oil slick* problem. Problem resolved when we got back to civilization and veggies. Anyone have any insight here? If you're having slicks, do they change if you eat a lot of the aforementioned veggies? If you want to try this out, let us know the result? (I am unwilling to try to reproduce my own oil slicks - it was not a pleasant experience. <g>) Thanks for your consideration to this, and for allowing so many of us to eavesdrop on your lives . . . you have made this process so much more pleasant! I appreciate your being willing to share your troubles, triumphs, and yourselves. Happy Holidays to All!
