Guest guest
My son got his band last Wednesday and I was extremely apprehensive. He is 8 1/2 months old and is doing great with it. Before the helmet he was always very happy and still is - that hasn't changed. He's been sleeping through the night since he was 4 months and that has continued. I was very upset about him having to get a helmet, but I know it's what is best. In addition, he is extremely mobile so it gives him extra protectionJamiSent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryFrom: "ILEANA" <ilyh68@...>Date: Tue, 08 Jun 2010 01:05:43 -0000<Plagiocephaly >Subject: My son is getting his band tomorrow. 06/08/2010 I'm feeling a little weary of my son wearing this band. I know it's for the best, but still seeing him wearing it kinda scares me. I'm wondering how he will do with it. How he's gonna be in the summer? He is teething right now, I just saw his first tooth is starting to come thru. All he does is cry & sleep. I feel hepless.
Guest guest
Well we went today to get his band. So far so good. I'm the one that is not taking it so well. I know that it is for the best, but to see him with it, I don't know. He is still playing and laughing, well when he is not crying due to his teething. Let's hope his demeanor doesn't change. Any advice on how to keep him cool in the summer would be appreaciated. > > My son got his band last Wednesday and I was extremely apprehensive. He is 8 1/2 months old and is doing great with it. Guest guest
Ileana,It will be alright. You will get used to the band. IT was hard for me at first too. I felt like I had not only let DS's head go flat, but now I was torturing him with this device. But he didn't seem to notice and only cried the last 30 seconds or so of the casting procedure. Be sure to get it decorated in something that makes you smile (remember, he doesn't care what it looks like, but he may see pix of it later in life and appreciate the decor!).As far as keeping him cool... my baby was banded in the dead of summer (July) and he was so hot!. We made sure to set a floor fan in his room close to his bed, but not directly on him (just close to him). He slept in a t-shirt if anything at all. We kept the AC around 70.For during the day, I went out and purchased the little light cotton overall rompers that they have for summer, but I made sure NOT to purchase the shirts. Just the overall portion. That way his chest was completely open and loose for optimal coolness. I didn't even buy thethe sleeveless rompers b/c they are more closed over the armpits and chest. Also, the overalls were super easy to pull over his band.HTH-Mommy to Aidan, DOCband graduate 10/2007and , DOCband free :-)From: ILEANA <ilyh68@...>Subject: My son is getting his band tomorrow. 06/08/2010Plagiocephaly Date: Monday, June 7, 2010, 8:05 PMI'm feeling a little weary of my son wearing this band.
