Hi ..so sorry you're in the hospital...i was there a week before Thanksgiving with pneumonia also...believe me..i was there on a Saturday & was released by Wed..just in time for Thanksgiving dinner. I had double pneumonia..it was BAD..but i did get better. After many antibiotics..rest eating..sleeping..b oredom..and TIME.and lots of FOOD..i did get better & YOU WILL TOO! Take it from someone that just overcame pneumonia. It did take a little longer than i had hoped..that i must admit..after coming home i stil couldn't get around...severe shortness of breath...but SUPER huge appetite..i ate everything in sight..then the cramps on my legs did come.. & that hurt on my kneecaps & my ankles...but i DID GET BETTER & YOU WILL TOO! I did go stircrazy after 1 month of isolation..i mean i just didn't

have strength to go ANYWHERE..but after a month..i'm finally & fully medicated. Be sure & do all the dr orders when you get home...That nebulizer every 4 hours really helped me alot!! as well as the antibiotics.. Be at peace...place card games..journal...watch movies..relax...ONLY TIME WILL GET YOU BETTER. Your lungs are super delicate & only time & you resting will get them better! Thinking of you! Merry Christmas!

First of all Merry Christmas.. I am writing u guys from my hospital bed with pneumonia. Been here 12 hours and have sucked in atleast 7 bags of 3 different antibiotics. Dr just came in and said i am not moving any air in middle bottom right lung, he says its filled with blood, fluid and phlegm.. He says it COULD start clearing up on 2 days. My fear is what if it doesnt??? Do they suck it out with a needle or what??? (just being crazy)...I am un imuran therapy and he's considering taking me off.Any suggestions, stories or similarities to my situation?? I am very scared and ger anxiety when the doctor looks like he diesnt know what to do !!! Tejeda36/ South CarolinaILD/ PF 11/2009

Sorry to hear you are in the hospital, but glad to hear you are in competent

hands. Follow the orders, hang in there, and you will be fine. Often between

the doctors and the nurses there is this wonderful discourse that ensures that

you will be fine in the long haul. They have lots of experience and knowledge

available to help you. It is never fun. I hate hospital visits, but I keep

them short by paying close attention and doing everything that is asked. Don't

hesitate to ask for help in understanding what your options are all along the

way. We are all pulling for you and you know you can drop a line 24/7. It is

so nice that so many hospitals have WiFi now. Rest, follow all of your

instructions and keep a sunny attitude!!

Love to you at Christmas and throughout your stay in the hospital,
