Guest guest
Ken Unfortunately, the greatest concentration is going to be where there is a teaching hospital/medical school. However, were you to go to National Jewish they could very likely recommend doctors they were familiar with in your area, perhaps even doctors who had studied there. Also, neither PFF or CPF has any support groups shown in your area. I live in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country and there are none here, so not surprising. > > Hi. Love all the posts. I am recently diagnosed, 12/09 and would like to know if anyone has any information on any support groups in Western Colorado and if there are any true ipf specialists in Western Colorado. I know about National Jewish in Denver, any other info would be of a great help to me. Thanks!! Ken Grand Junction, Colorado >
Guest guest
Thanks for your reply.National Jewish seems to be the best choice. I have found very few docs with any helpful information. Once again Thank you!!! Ken > > > > Hi. Love all the posts. Guest guest
Pink You would think PFF and CPF would be the best places but most PF patients have never heard of either of them. In reality the best place to get some energy started would probably be in Pulmonologist's offices but some medical centers are very reluctant to allow flyers for anything held off their campus and reluctant to allow anything on their campus that their staff isn't directly overseeing. I think once one was started maintaining it would be easier but when I thought of the effort of starting one and its first year, as much as I wanted to do so, I didn't have the energy to commit to it. > > > > > > Hi. Guest guest
Pink Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation and Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, both of which have listings of support groups. Trip starts today....probably in about 3 hours. Breaking it down into three shorter days. Where I'll go today is anyone's guess. Just as far and as long as the mood takes me. I'm guessing I'll end the day somewhere in Alabama. > > > > > > > > Hi. Love all the posts. Guest guest
Ken, I, too was dx in 09. National Jewish is wonderful. You won't find a better place to begin to learn about all of this. Next, of course, is this informative board. The members are so generous with good advice.
