Hi ,

We added Kayro syrup to 's food when he was younger. Not much

though because if food gets too sweet it would make him feel full.

You might want to contact a nutritionist and ask if you can get

Polycose. It is a tasteless calorie booster.

I hope this helps.

Is already on a high calorie formula? Powders and corn syrup are

sources of carbohydrates. Our Dr. had us use a 30cal/oz formula before we

added things to our daughter's regular formula. By using a complete source

of nutrition at a higher calorie density, her calories were well rounded

between sources of carbs, proteins and fat. I believe there are other

families whose doctors recommended adding cream or half and half as well.

to boost the calories. I bought some Ketone test strips today.. but

forgot to get cotton balls... story of my life! I'll try to use a paper

towel or some cloth till I get some cotton balls.

Hi Dayna -

No.. is just on breast milk. I walked past the high calorie

formulas today and considered picking one up... but didn't. I haven't

added anything to her baby food yet. But starting tomorrow I will keep a

record of how many calories she gets. I'll have to guess at the breast

milk.. I'm not sure exactly how much she gets. The best thing I have

found that contains lots of calories is breast milk and baby cereal...

that's almost 200 calories a bowl! She loves that stuff.

Thanks for the info!

If you have a nutritionist check with her/him. If not concentrate on high

calorie baby food choices. I actually have a couple of cans of Duocal

leftover from when we used them with Alyssa if you or anyone else is

interested.

Hi guys,

My daughter Chloe was on neosure by similac it's 22 calories plus our dr had

us make her bottles into 28 calories by increasing the amount of powder. She's

never been big on formula so since she has a twin brother I switched her to his

(Similac Advance) still making it with a higher calorie. She drinks this alot

better and it didn't affect her weight. She is still growing slowly but surely.

I'm better of with baby food with high calories with her. She loves to eat but

still doesn't like formula much. Everyday is so different. One day she'll

drink 5 4 oz bottles and other days it seems like she'll only drink half of a

four oz bottle. And then some days she'll want a 6 oz bottle. But she always

eats her food.

Also we are going to an encronologist (wrong spelling sorry) to test her bone

age and to see if she should seek growth hormone treatments. I'm very nervous

and anxious. I'm curious to any side effects of growth hormone or if I should

even condiser it. She is 9 months old 4 weeks ago she weighed 10 lb 8.9 oz so

I'm guessing she is at about 11 lbs we'll found out tomorrow. Her birth weigh

was 2 lb 10 oz.

I was also curious to know which dr do I ask about periactin and polycose.

Would that be her reflux dr?

If anyone has advise let me know thanks.
