Hi Sara-

I am so jealous to hear that you were only in braces for 4 months pre-op!! How

did get off that easy? Did you see other orthos that told you you would be in

braces for a longer amount of time pre-op? Mine says a year, which I just don't

get. I already had braces for 4 years when I was in my teens. My bite isn't

all that bad. I have an openbite, but not a terrible one. I've only had my

braces on for 5 days so far, and I am already so uncomfortable. I just wish

there was a way to speed up this process.

Thanks,

Samara

Hi Dany

When I had my surgery done 3 and half months ago I was living in

Manhattan. I had my surgery done by Dr. Sachs www.nycoms.com.

He was excellent. He has an office in Manhattan and two in Long

Island where I was operated at Long Island Jewish Hospital. Dr. Sachs

operates also at Cornell in NYC. My orthodontist was Dr.

Diamond who has an office in Manhattan on East 61st between Park and

Lex and an office in Long Island. Both doctors were FANTASTIC with me

and I attribute the easy ride I had of the whole orthognathic surgery

journey to them. Dr. Sachs was always honest, truthful and upfront

with me but most of all very caring and I am super pleased with the

results of my new bite. Dr. Diamond has so far managed to stick to

his promise of keeping me in braces for no longer than 6 months pre-

op (I was actaully ready after only 4 months) and 6 months post-op.

Fingers crossed I get my braces off in a month and a half.

Feel free to email me at sararegine@... if you want more info.
