Guest guest
Carissa, can you tolerate beans and nuts?UC-C 12/09SCD 1/10Daily, CLO, Magnesium, bromelain, acidophilus Mom of 2 crazy monkeys :-) So we've been on the SCD for about 1.5 months now (maybe 2, not sure... have to look at our calendar!). I feel great! I'm not bloated, gassy, or (the worst) doubled over in pain after everything I eat. I don't have any pain any more, and my mood has improved significantly as well (although I think other factors have contributed to that as well). My only concern however is that I'm still not having a bowel movement daily. Typically, when I DO have one, they are 'good' on the rating scale. Obviously depending on what I eat, they may be more rock like or rabbit like (and in those cases, I cut out whatever I ate that apparently I can't handle quite yet). But the majority of the time they are "perfect poos". hahaha. Again, I'm just not having them on a regular basis. I'd say about once every 3 days. But I feel good and am not bloated or gassy. So... any hints, suggestions, opinions??? =) Carissa
Guest guest
We haven't tried beans yet (we're about to though this week). Nuts are dependent. We tried walnuts raw, but those didn't go over well. Almonds any way are fine. And peanut butter is fine. Walnut butter also seems fine. Just not whole and raw. My son though, who has never had an allergic reaction to any nuts (peanuts counting as a legume), had an allergic reaction to walnut butter (that I made) yesterday. So something is going on with the walnuts, for sure. But other than those, everything else has been fine. We aren't eating many nuts, just because it's so expensive. But about twice a week we'll have some nut muffins. We do eat about 4 a day though during those 2 days! Although no matter if I have muffins, or no muffins, it doesn't seem to make a difference. I did get some prunes yesterday. Which I need to verify if they are legal or not! =) Carissa > > > So we've been on the SCD for about 1.5 months now (maybe 2, not sure... have to look at our calendar!). I feel great!
