and ,

Welcome to the list serve! You won't find a more caring or supportive bunch

of people on the internet!

Have you tried contacting the MAGIC foundation?? You can find them at

http://magicfoundation.org/www

OR there is MAGIC New Zealand at

http://www.magicfoundation.org/www/docs/1.131/magic_new_zealand.html

These organization are wonderful resources for information.

I need more specific information about what you need to know about GHT

(growth hormone therapy). My g-son, has been on GH (growth hormone)

for almost 2 years, and it has done wonders for not only his height, but

also his muscle tone. We give him a shot nightly before bed.

As far as Flynn vomiting..... Is he orally or g-tube fed??? Is he on any

meds for reflux?? Could he be suffering from silent reflux?? Has he ever

been tested for food allergies???

Reflux is fairly common in RSS children. Most of our kids are on either a

PPI (proton pump inhibitor - Prevacid, Prilosec) or an H2A (Histamine 2

Antagonist - Zantac, Pepcid) or a combination of the two.

A PPI works by shutting down the pumps that create acid in the stomach, thus

relieving the pain of reflux. H2As work by neutralizing the acid currently

in the stomach.

My g-son takes Zantac in the morning, and Prevacid at night, and this

controls his reflux fairly well.

As far as food allergies, the obvious answer would be to remove the

offending foods from his diet. if he hasn't been tested, then I might try

that route.

I hope this helps. More info would really help me to give you more specific

answers.

Again, Welcome!!

Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 4yrs 2m old, 28# 10oz, 35 " , G-tube, GHT)
