Guest guest
I need an opinion. Here's the situation: My mum has been making a lot of the scd yogurt lately. She put a double batch in the dehydrator but I noticed when it was time for them to come out the jars seemed cooler than usual. Turns out either she forgot to set the right temp or I accidentally moved it. So they were doing nothing for 24 hours. I put them back in the dehydrator with the right temp that night and then 7 hours later she removed them (not knowing about the mistake I discovered). And hour later I got up, saw what happened and we put them all back in the dehydrator but.....will they still be okay or is this something that I should avoid (she just needs yogurt and likes the scd yogurt vs. me who obviously has to have it be scd safe)? What do you think? stacey
Guest guest
This is just my opinion - I think they'll be fine as yogurt since they had 7 hours but not fine as SCD yogurt since they didn't have the full 24 hours. I've made similar mistakes, like have the yogurt not warm enough all night long and I just fixed the temp, extended the time and everything was fine. Just my opinion. > > I need an opinion. What do you think? I think I would let your Mom have this batch and put another batch on for you... this time making sure you set the temperature correctly! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
