Guest guest
Cindy, Do you mind if I ask if your chronic pain is from arthritis? I ask because I am getting close to asking for some pain relief help for mine and would like to know what to ask for. I had one hip replaced almost 2 years ago and after going off celebrex found out I had it in the other hip. It is now causing me a lot of pain. I took celebrex for 2 years post-op and was off it before I found this group last year and found out how dangerous it can be. I guess I was lucky. I am so hesitant to go back on pain killers, but I am having a lot of pain. Thanks for the help. Diane LAP RNY 9/99 > Hi , > > I take 1 Bextra daily along with another drug, Cytotec, 3 times a > day. Guest guest
Yes, thats exactly what it is for. I had two lower back surgeries and with each, alot of scar tissue set in and with scar tissue comes arthritis. I never knew that was what it was, just that I had alot of lower back pain, stiffness and achiness, that the docs were telling me was not from discs (reasons I had the surgeries). A hot shower helped temporarily but not enough to take my mind off of the pain all day long at work...The difference from when I am on an NSAID and off an NSAID is whether I can get out of bed and function without pain. With the vioxx or bextra, its all the world of difference! Cindy in Va lap RNY 2/8/02 > > Hi , > > > > I take 1 Bextra daily along with another drug, Cytotec, 3 times a > > day. Guest guest
Hey Cindy! Sorry to hear about the pain. I just had x-rays done yesterday of my lower spine and I have arthritis there. The kept telling me it was part of he fibromyalgia, but there are days I literally can't get out of bed without rolling on the floor and then holding onto something to try and stand up. That's why the x-rays. I was surprised when the doc called today to say it was arthritis. She's starting me on physical therapy on Monday... doesn't want to waste time. She wants to get the arthritic pain under control and try and get the fibromyalia under control. Hugs, Tigger Re: Bextra-arthritis? > Yes, thats exactly what it is for.
