Guest guest
I have has the same problem with the holidays. I allowed myself some treats and now I am craving them. I am going to go on a protein fast for a week and get back into my healthy eating style. I am curious what other people do when this happens. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Christy, my response is going to be a little different from the " go back to all protein to kick the carbs habit " reply. The holidays were a little tough for me too and I gained 4 pounds, 3 of which I have already taken off. I'm a believer in moderation, to include having something " bad " , or what I call my treats every day. I have learned that if I set a reasonable weight as my goal weight (size 10 instead of the size 6's), eat sensible small meals heavy on protein, and keep up the regular exercise, I can have my daily sweet treats and still maintain the weight. Not everyone can do this, and for some, having a cookie or a slice of cake triggers eating the whole box of cookies or the entire cake. But for some, like me, I can be satisfied with a small slice of cake, whereas to deny myself the cake is more stressful and plays on my mind, to include dealing with the guilt when I have it anyways... Perhaps you can do the same. I do have a plan however, as everyone should, for when I go above my window, as I did this holiday season. I cut back on the snacks/treats (not eliminate), cut a bite or two out of my meals, add an extra work out session a week (from 3 to 4) and up the water. That usually does it. For me, its a matter of control and moderation. Not denial or being too strict. Hope this helps.
