Guest guest
No Joyce, Using the oxygen cannot cause bronchitis. If you have chronic bronchitis the cause could be any number of things, smoking, exposure to toxins etc etc but using the oxygen is not something that causes bronchitis. My stress test was normal so my doc wanted me to come in and get some high blood pressure pills but I still don't believe it. So, I increased my 02 to 5 liters instead of 4 and I am feeling better.....but was wondering if breathing oxygen can cause bronchitis? Guest guest
Joyce Did your oximeter indicate that your saturation was low on 4 lpm? You can't just turn up the oxygen based on feel, please. As to the high blood pressure, the readings seem consistent and clear but I'd suggest just as in the oximeter, you should have a blood pressure machine at home. I think anyone who has had any indication of high blood pressure should and should then routinely check. That way you've got readings under different and more relaxed circumstances. Readings at doctor's offices can reflect the anxiety over just being there. So get more readings. But do not ignore the high blood pressure or heart related concerns. No, oxygen can't cause bronchitis. If it could then guess every human being would have bronchitis. Now, that does serve as a reminder to regularly change all hoses and cannulas and to keep your humidifier clean and change it occasionally as well. While oxygen can't cause bronchitis or other conditions, bacteria can cause problems. Also, do use distilled water. > > Hi everyone.
