Guest guest
i'm with blue cross blue shield, they did in fact have a 1 year waiting plan, and even with the highest monthly premium, my out of pocket max for the year will still be $12,500. However, compared to the $41K in surgery fees (I had my upper jaw expanded and moved forward, lower jaw moved forward, and a chin implant), $3500 in anesthesia fees, and god knows what else in hospital fees, it is a bargain. I had to fight my insurance company for 6 months to get them to cover my orthognathic surgery. In the end, the exact wording that got me in was " lifelong skeletal deformity " , even though from the looks of it, I look totally normal, just with a small chin. However, it caused problems in my TM joint and problems with chewing, and even though esthetically i will look better afterwards, functionality was my number one goal. have every single doctor you've ever seen write a letter to this effect, and have a big stack of paperwork ready when you begin, and you should be just fine. Good luck! Jen Surgery date: Nov. 10th, 2005 > > Basically i had my consultation today with an orthodontist.
