Guest guest
Oh it makes me feel a little better to hear other people's process of getting to braces is as slow as mine. My teeth are not conforming...just when I thought I'd got over the wisdom teeth removal and could get on with the braces stage a lower tooth started hurting and now after having it drilled and refilled it still hurts and I think I have to have a crown, which means I may get into braces before the years anniversary of my first visit to the surgeon. If only things ran smoothly!
Guest guest
- Sorry to hear that your process has hit a snag with that problematic lower tooth of yours. Do you think you will need to have a root canal on the tooth? A few years ago, I had a tooth that hurt, so I went to my dentist, and after poking it with cold and hot instruments and xraying it, decided that I needed a rootcanal. He did it right then and there - took him less time to do it than fill a cavity. Then I went back in a few weeks to get fitted for a crown.// My teeth continue to move like crazy, although my teeth are sore (ache). Eating has become a chore; I can't bite into food very well and I feel that I'm swallowing food whole or half-chewed. My OD is very pleased with my progress and has changed my archwires at each of my adjustment appointments. He is hesitant to tell me that I am ahead of schedule, but did say that if I continue to progress as I have, that I should be ready for surgery earlier; he quickly adds " don't quote me - I haven't discussed this with Dr. " . I go back to my OMS in December to finalize the surgery plans - the LeFort (upper) Osteotomy has yet to be decided upon, although I think it's a no- brainer. My OMS was leaning towards doing it at my last appointment with him, but says he needs to see me and have another Cephalometric xray taken six months before my surgery. My appointment is for Dec. 13th, which is my birthday; I plan on telling him that I want a GREAT birthday present from him - 2 things: surgery moved up from June, and the LeFort procedure.// Hope you get your braces by Christmas! Hang in there with that tooth of yours. Take care and write soon.~~~ Diane (Idaho) > > Oh it makes me feel a little better to hear other people's process of > getting to braces is as slow as mine.
