Guest guest
Hey, Maddison is doing pretty good. One day is a little better than the next. She is a drama queen so she has used her pain to her advantage. Her feeds a going fine she is even eating solid foods also. She gets tired very easy though. Yesterday her site started bleeding and having a gukish looking crutty stuff around it and that has freaked me out and her too. Is this normal. We thought it might be because she is moving about a little more. Maddison 4 1/2 38 inches, 24lbs gh, zantac, periactin
Guest guest
Hi. I am glad to here Maddison is doing well! So is Autumn, she had hers placed on the 7th of nov. She's had the stuff coming out and blood mixed with it...yuck. She ended up getting an infection of a stitch in the stomach, it formed an abcess and it moved to the surface of her skin by the button ....looks pretty disgusting, but it is trying to heal up. Good luck to you! mom to Autumn 22 mos, Summer 4.5 mos, Ocean 3, skye 7 > > Hey, > Maddison is doing pretty good. One day is a little better than the > next. Guest guest
, Maddison has to build up some scar tissue around the g-tube site. That is why you are seeing the redness and oozing. Try to stablize it as best you can with gauze around the site when she moves around a lot. On the other hand, you need air to help it heal, too. Unfortunately, it is part of the healing process. But watch out for signs of infection, too. You would see lots of oozing and red streaks. Then she must be seen by the doctor right away. It's too soon for there to be granulation tissue, a whole other issue to deal with, but easy enough to handle. Jodi Z
