That is incredible! Having lived in Japan for 4 years, I was always used to

their stuff costing us A LOT more then we were used to paying. $20 American

dollars for a melon the size of a small ball...too much for my pocket book.

And going out to dinner was rarely done, except if it was a noodle shop.

Noodles were cheaper....about $7 or $8 a bowl. This was in 1979-1983 and I

know the dollar is worth even less now then it was then.
