Guest guest
Hi Diane, Sounds like you're well on your way on the journey. Wax will be a good friend through out the orthodontic portion of the journey. I'm using tons of it now. The new position of my teeth, now makes some of the brackets rub my mouth. And as the numbness from the surgery wears off, I feel it more. Also I have a few tie wires on upper that need to be fixed. Hopefully the next OD visit they'll remove the upper surgical hooks and put the power chains back on as they help keep the brackets from rubbing the mouth. I also found with the new position of jaws, I have been biting my lower lip. So I put wax on lower teeth at night until my lips can " get it together and know where they belong " ! My biggest problem is I'm still having trouble sleeping at night, so have an appointment to see the pulmonologist after my OS appt on Wed. I need some answers. Oh, for a good nights sleep! The OS said it might take my brain at least 3 mos. to release it doesn't need to wake me up. By then I'll be a zombie!! The sleeping meds don't even help sometimes. Just remember those anti-inflammatories (Advil, etc) and wax will help you get through the " braces " discomfort. Shirley
