Guest guest
Carol I use any type of physiological reaction to tell me that my body isn’t tolerating something I swallowed or was given via injection. This can be a reaction from any body system, in other words. Sometimes the reaction can be immediate, but many times it takes a week or more of using/eating something before my body lets me know it isn’t going to tolerate it. I’d consider your swollen eyelids to be a possible reaction to dairy, so I’d try making a nut milk or coconut yogurt. Or try a legal L. Acidophilus supplement. Perhaps sprinkle the contents of a L. Acidophilus capsule into lukewarm applesauce or a smoothie made with ice and fruit and see if your body tolerates it better. Experiment with taking it less often; once a week or once every two weeks. Or experiment with what time of day you are taking the probiotics, and try it with food, at a meal, if you haven’t already been doing that. If you discover you are reacting to the beneficial bacteria, not the delivery system or frequency of the dose, then you may just have to stop trying until you’ve been on SCD for a longer time. Our bodies do absorb plenty of bacteria from our foods, so our gut ecology will rebuild on SCD, just more slowly. My decision/choice is to not swallow (or be given by injection) anything that causes my body enough of a reaction for me to notice, either over the short-term or long-term. Kim M. What is " tolerating " ? And how many symptoms do y'all put up with in the hopes that what's going on is more beneficial than not? After all, this life-long reaction Even as a kid I had it. Not till my early 60s did I discover that it was caused by wheat and carbs. And it's the reason why my eyelids are saggy in the first place. I really don't like it~~!!
