Guest guest
Hey all. just wanted to ask a question if anyone else has had this. 1 week ago we finally began to use the button for Autumns g-tube, up until that time (2 weeks) the tube had been attatched to the button and tapeddown to her skin to immobilize it...the surgeon said that less movemetn at first the better the tract heals correctly ....? Well, the button leaks when the plug is open. I know that is not supposed to happen so I called the office last week and the nurse said that it is not uncommon because of the way the surgeon places the tube?????? They said they can't put a new one in for a few weeks because the site is not ready and it can cause problems. Nothing leaks when the plug is in, but as soon as I open it to attatch the tube it starts coming out so I have to do it very quickly. This surgeon placed it laproscopy so I don't know if that is why. How are these buttons to work normally? WE have an appt in a few weeks for a new tube. Has this happend to anyone else? Am I being misinformed? Apparently this hospital is good at that. thanks mom to Autumn 22 mos, Summer 4.5 mos, Ocean 3 yrs, Skye 7 yrs
