Guest guest
Yes, I have heard of this. Some people live forever with their rings/bands just fine. Then the rest of us have bodies who fight off the Foreign Invader. My doc will not do any kind of ring on an RNY for this reason, regardless of begging. All I can tell you is that many of us do fine with no ring/band. Not all stomas relax. It's rare, not common. I agree with your reasoning that if you stop vomiting, your weight may become more manageable. And worse than losing your ring (which you are ALREADY LOSING) would be to have your whole surgery taken down because your pouch has been beaten with vomiting, see? Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
De Jean, Welcome to the group. As far as the band goes, keep in mind that you now have scar tissue there. This maybe all you need there. It may, infact stretch a little but the scar tissue will remain there until it is removed.
