Guest guest
I’ve used Penzey’s spices for years, long before I started SCD. Some of the products do contain illegals, so read the ingredient lists carefully before purchase. There is still some concern about their garlic and onion powders. We think they are OK, the company says they don’t add anti-caking agents to their powder (and my onion powder certainly cakes in the high humidity where I live) but pay attention to your body’s signals. If you develop new symptoms, or notice that you aren’t healing as expected, remove the commercial garlic or onion powder first. It is always safest to make your own. My digestion reacts badly to Penzey’s garlic powder but does OK with their onion. It is probably just my dysfunctional upper GI reacting, but it does prove that we have to pay attention to our body’s signals at all times. Some things will work, some will not. Kim M.
