Terry, our SCD dentist, recommends just one drop on the toothbrush for kids.

Toothpaste for kids?

Hi,

Is there an SCD toothpaste for kids? I have a two year old, so you know whatever goes near his mouth is getting swallowed. It seems like some form of sugar is in all the toothpastes i've seen. Baking soda? Anything else?

I've been using this for the last few months. It's pretty good stuff, and it's

nice to know I'm not putting a bunch of chemicals in my mouth everyday.

Baking soda is hard on your enamel if you use it everyday. I think it's

recommended to only use it once or twice a week.

Great advice, thanks!

and the friction of a soft toothbrush are all that are needed to remove bacteria

from toddler teeth.

> Baking soda is extremely abrasive, especially when coupled with the friction

of a toothbrush. It is not recommended for baby teeth or more than once a week

for adult teeth for that matter. It is effective in removing surface stains, but

doesn't really 'clean' teeth--friction does.

percentages compared to direct application of Sodium Bicarbonate ( baking soda).

In fact, studies show that the lower the percentage of the abrasive in a

toothpaste, the better that dentifrice cleans teeth.
