Guest guest
Sorry to hear you still have the numbness. I too had lower jaw surgery on July 19th and my chin and lower lip still feel numb. It makes it really hard to shave. My surgeon said it could be weeks to months before it gets better, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hope everything gets better for you. Guest guest
Same with me. I had lower/upper/genio on 7/21 and now my left lower lip and chin have not regained any amount of sensation. I have some tingling, especially in the evening but it's still completely numb. It's so numb, it feels weird to touch it. This must be very common. I have high hopes, but it's hard to be patient. Guest guest
hi - I had upper/lower/genio on June 13. My bottom right chin and lip were numb until a little over a week ago - in the last week, some feeling has come back, but it's been really painful. I was told it's because the nerve is growing, but the myelin covering doesn't grow as fast. It feels like pins and needles jabbing unexpectedly, and often itches, but hurts to itch. Yet another difficult side effect of this very invasive surgery. > > > > I had lower jaw on July 22nd. I was surprised how quickly I > > regained > > > > feeling in my jaw and cheeks.
