Guest guest
Hi All & June Buddies, Just an update from visit to OD & OS today. All looks good. The amount of numbness left is minimal. Energy is starting to come back (probably as the thyroid medication is getting back to normal and hemoglobin is returning normal). Rubber bands have been changed from the 3-6 configuration to 3-6,7 by the OD. (Caboose) I now have the triangle formation on each side, probably not the same as yours, but sure feels weird. Powerchains back on upper teeth to close some space that developed. OS still won't allow any biting with the front teeth to protect the joints. I've had some stiffness & soreness in am in right joint. I'm always catching myself starting to bite into a piece of toast in am! I'm seeing the OD & OS every 4 weeks now. And finally managed to get both appts on same day - saves a little gas since it's 130 miles RT to see them. Sleep study done 4 weeks ago showed the obstructive sleep apnea was cured by the surgery (though I still have sleep problems probably not related to it and still hoping the brain will retrain itself to not wake up so much). I've been packing and trying to get everything ready to leave on vacation tomorrow morning. Hoping with nasal spray & antihistamines the ears won't be a problem on the flight tomorrow. Wishing all those who have had surgery or are approaching their surgeries a speedy recovery. Shirley
Guest guest
Shirley - Congratulations on your recovery and the good news about your sleep study. Sounds like you are finally on the mend and no more sleep apnea for you!///I went to the doctor (the doctor my OMS goes to himself) on Monday for a Physical and to have the blood work repeated. He seems to think that a statin drug will do the trick, but definitely agreed with my assessment of the situation regarding the need to have the tests repeated. He ordered the following tests: Comprehensive Metabolic Panel,Insulin Level, Lipid Level, and Hemoglobin AC. The latter is a new one to me, and he says it measures my glucose levels for the last ninety days. Anyway, he says he will fax me a copy of the results, as the testing was done at a lab other than my hospital's. So, I'm waiting to find out what the story is./// I, too, am going on a vacation of sorts. Actually, it's the annual meeting of the California Association of Cytotechnologists. This year it's being held at a large hotel in downtown San Diego. The meeting is Saturday and Sunday, so I will be flying to LAX on Thursday morning, and driving down the beautiful coastline to S.D. on Friday. After the meeting is over, I will be driving back up to L.A. and getting together with one of my best friends there. She and I haven't seen each other in a few years, but we've kept in touch, so she knows about my upcoming surgery and the fact that I have braces. I will be flying home on Tuesday morning; my First ortho adjustment will be one hour after I land, so I plan to brush my teeth while waiting for my bags./// I had to go to my OD's office this afternoon to change some appointments and got to visit with my OD. He seemed pleasantly surprised at my progress. We will discuss my ortho/surgery timetable at my adjustment appointment; I asked him if my surgery would/could be moved up if I continue at my current rate of movement and he says he will let me know next week./// Well, that's it for now. Hope you have a very nice and restful vacation. Take care. ~~~ Diane :-)#) -- - In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " bizegramatx " <Bizegramma@h...> wrote: > Hi All & June Buddies, Just an update from visit to OD & OS today. > All looks good.
