discouraged/may have to stop SCD for good because of kidneys

I wrote in way back in January about my kidneys failing while on Remicade and

SCD. I stopped the Remicade immediately, but continued with SCd for a while

until my kidney function dropped to the point of beginning dialysis. I did a

bunch of reading and though the doctors said diet didn't have a part (don't we

hear this all the time?!) in the very high concentration of protein being found

in my urine, I found that when I cut WAY back on protein, to basically nothing,

that my kidney function increased steadily. This was near impossible for me to

maintain legal SCD (I had been eating good quality meats, cheeses, yard eggs,

organics all around) because I do not tolerate many fruits and veggies,

especially raw ones, and I was so hungry all the time and so tired. With the

advice of many and for my own sanity I began to eat some rice based/gluten free

items here and there with the plan to return to SCd when my kidneys were back in

a normal range of function. I was doing fine and the kidney function went from

30 to 66 (August tests), so about a month ago I went back to SCd because I DO

think it is a better way to eat. I thought I was doing ok, but today, when I

went to the nephrologist, my protein numbers are really high again and my kidney

function has fallen 12 points, down to 54. I am so discouraged and just don't

know what to do. If I eat for one organ it hurts the other. I feel like

throwing my hands in the air and giving up on all fronts...I can't win.

Now, I did have a small flare with B and M in my BMs starting 2 weeks ago, and

though that seems to be under control right now, I wonder if they are connected?

I have been on the intro diet for a LONGGGGG time trying to get everything back

to normal and have just started adding more foods.

Not sure if anyone can really help here, but I just needed to get it out with

people who also struggle with multiple health issues and how to balance it all.
