Guest guest
A New Rx for MedicineFed up with slow drug trials, cancer patients and doctors are testing a fast track to personalized treatments.http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703882404575520190576846812.html?mod=WeekendHeader_RotatorSo this is about fast tracking cancer treatments, but it seems pretty parallel to what we have discoveredhere on this list, with our no treatment and reaction fits all approach to trying to give advice:>>>>"The new trial draws from a growing body of research showing that the genetic makeup of tumors varies widely even among patients diagnosed with the same cancer. Some of these molecular traits, called biomarkers, make a tumor vulnerable to a specific medicine, while others may thwart a drug's effect.">>>>>This is pretty much what I've been theorizing for a while now. We don't have tumors, but obviously there is a genetic difference in the critters we do have, let alone within ourown biology, which are triggering our symptoms, and that variation even within the same disease (let alone within IBD and IBS, or crohn's and colitis and all the other variables) means,as we've already learned here, that there is no one size fits all treatment plan - either based onmeds or based on supplements and natural antibacterials and etc. Now we just need to figure out a business model for doing similar trials for IBS/IBD and gainingsome business connections and a sympathetic doctor to run trials for us.
