They were voluntarily recalled in Sept of 2010. I wondered the same thing when I was looking for my son. Some people hung onto them though and as long as the baby isn't very mobile yet and not rolling over I don't think it'd do harm. Once our guy starting scooting in the bed (still not rolling at 6 months) we took it out because he wasn't going to be positioned.

Hi all,I have been diligent about putting my 2 1/2 month son (who has severe plagio and tort) to bed with a rolled towel behind him to try and keep him on the correct side, but he consistently ends up with his head on the flat spot. Since he sleeps 16-18 hours a day still I'm concerned that the plagio will get worse. On one of the plagio websites I saw a Summer Infant Symmetry Sleep Positioner, but I haven't been able to purchase it on any sites and there aren't any posts about it since early 2010. I'm wondering if it's because they aren't safe? Is that why they aren't sold anymore? Anyone know anything about this??Thanks!
