Guest guest
, I am not positive what my DLCO is right now but I know it's low. I use 6L quietly sitting and up it talking with company to 7, 8L I use 12 to 15 Leaders walking very slowly and then only for a short distance...25 or 30 feet. When I first sit down i have to wait and catch my air back again before I can talk. So I probably should be higher but this is the limit..for me. I can see what a struggle this disease is for all the newbies and it breaks my heart. We that are advanced stage ( I don't like using stage because then new members want to know about stages) at times have the same fears and concerns as the new ones but on a different scale so it is sometimes difficult to accept how quickly time flys. So I do my very best to be thankful and Thank God for every day I have. There are times I know we are a pain for our caregivers but that is out of our control.. we have to just do what we can for us. Hang in there sweetheart and we will do this together. At this stage it is all about how you feel. Love & PrayersPeggy, IPF 2004

Guest guest
DLCO stands for the diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide, the test used to determine this parameter. DLCO is the extent to which oxygen passes from the air sacs of the lungs into the blood. Subject: Re: DLCOTo: Breathe-Support Date: Saturday, January 2, 2010, 1:44 PM What is DLCO?
