Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to the group. My litle guy (4 months old) was supposed to be fitted for his doc band today but we discovered he has ringworm on Friday. We cancelled the appointment and we're treating the ringworm. Unfortunately, scalp ringworm can take a month or more to treat. I was anxious to get his treatment going before the Summer as we live in the South. I'm not sure if we should treat for the whole month or just wait until it looks better. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on my situation. Guest guest
I would suggest talking to both your doctor and CT and see what they recommend. I'm sure that CT has probably seen this before and will know how having the band on will effect the ringworm. Guest guest
I'd bet a warm moist environment will make it hard to get rid of the ringworm, so you will have to fully treat it first. Definitely a question for the doctor/ Cranial Tech though... > > > Hi, I'm new to the group. Guest guest
I didn't know hearing aides could do that, I feel for u and will send out prayers. Ever since I had my big c I have been frantic about keeping my ears dry. No water. I even put cotton balls in my ears when I shower. And keep them in until I have finished blow drying my hair. Guest guest
Ask you doctor if you are a candidate for the BAHA hearing aid. With this hearing aid nothing goes into the ear. It is a bone conduction hearing aid. I am going to have it . Ruth From: tink442002 <tink442002@...>Subject: fungal infectioncholesteatoma Date: Wednesday, August 10, 2011, 9:09 PM So I got a fungal infection from my hearing aid trapping moisture in my ear. At the same time I also had a bacterial infection. My dr decided to just clear up the fungal infection first and then give me antibiotics for the bacterial infection. This has been going on for about a month now. I have been on a powerful antibiotic for 7days already and my ear still hurts and I still have drainage. The pain is in the upper part of my ear. Not down by my eustation tube. Any thoughts???!!?? I'm really afraid I'm going to find out the big "C" is back. I go to the dr. Friday...... Guest guest
I used to get those infections and drainage from my ears as well when I wore "traditional" hearing aids. I now have the BAHA, bone anchored hearing aids, for both ears. My ears stay dry and no more drainage or infection from the hearing aids being in my ear.I hope your infection clears up soon.Ilona From: tink442002 <tink442002@...>Subject: fungal infectioncholesteatoma Date: Wednesday, August 10, 2011, 9:09 PM So I got a fungal infection from my hearing aid trapping moisture in my ear.
