Guest guest
Hello, I know I am late in responding, but I wanted to share my bladder story with Holly. I had never had any bladder issue prior to WLS, and 8 months post op after 2 UTI's, I discovered something protruding from my body. I called my gyn thinking I probably had a prolapsed uterus, and after an exam he said it was actually my bladder leaving my body. Insurance required some testing (uro-dynamics, no fun.), and my doc said that the bladder being wedged in the vagina was what was holding the uterus up. In May I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy, birch sling repair for the bladder, and a tummy tuck. Prior to anesthesia, I had an epidural which was left in until the day I left the hospital, and I virtually had NO pain. It was just tylenol when I got home. ( I was in the hospital 4 nights.) I had a catheter from the bladder and tummy drains for 10 days. Since then, I have no problems, except some issues getting titrated on the correct hormones. I would do it again. hope this helps some. I also work with two other WLS postops with bladder repairs. Maybe the fat was holding it up??? tp
