Guest guest
hey ashley, wow, that sounds scary though..if you hadn't jolted would they have known? and what meds were those though? were you being put under general or " concsious sedation " ? anyway, either way though, what i did, even though i knew it wasn't gonna happen, is talk to the anasthesiolgist about my fear and i even said " yeah, i know this is gonna sound crazy but i've watched a show and read these things blah blah " and just explained my fears..this way, i figured at teh very least, they'll be especially careful for this not to happen, though, anyway i knew inside that it would not happen. so i guess that's what i'd suggest for pple worried..is just bring up the fear and this way they'll be extra vigilant with everything and you'll just feel more calm having actually discussed it... While getting my wisdom teeth out, I experienced this BEFORE the doctor started the procedure. The meds they use at the dentist aren't as strong and the paralyzing effect took place before the unconscious effect, so I was thinking pretty clearly as I lay there unable to move or open my eyes. It was scary but I was finally able to jolt upright and the doctor assured me that the meds hadn't completely taken over yet. I'm planning on speaking to my anesthesiologist about this before sugery just to feel more comfortable about it. You should too.
