I have some good fish stews, but nothing really gumbo-ish, because we

can't have okra, and file-powder is a starch, as far as I can

tell.

I do have a dynamite oyster and artichoke bisque!

I am well aware that it is not legal... The base of it is roux and that is made with flour...never mind the okra and file... That is why I asked her if she had come up with something close to it..

No roux, either.... although, toasted sesame oil adds an interesting

flavor to things which helps.
