Guest guest
Hi, I haven't read her books yet, though I plan to before convention. Here are my issues: 1) How to densely pack calories and nutrition into foods when the child eats very slowly (due to small mouth/jaw), has low appetite and difficulty focusing on meal time. He would eat more, but he eats so slowly that everyone is done before him. (This worries me when school comes around) 2) I try to serve whole grains (bread, waffles, rice, etc.) but find it takes him longer to chew so he eats less. Right now volume/calories are most important. 3) As someone else mentioned, what about supplements like omega-3's, etc? Colin's GI has us trying ground flax seeds in rice and yogurts. Are there other things we can add to his foods to boost nutrition as we wean from the g-tube (and all the nutrients he gets through the formula that will be going away). 4) Recipes or ideas for meals or snacks that the kids can help prepare.
