Guest guest
Hi Gang I don't think anyone is trying to say protein shakes or nothing. Its just with most wls, we just do not absorb the protein in the food enough to be ENOUGH. That is why protein shakes are recommended to supplement because we do get the full protein from the shakes. Very few also can get away with no vitamins/supplements after having wls. It just gets depleted finally till a person is in deep trouble already. A friend who moved to Fla. had wls 20 months ago. She called me and said she is doing great and does nothing---no vitamins-no extra protein supplements--nothing. Says her bloodwork is fine. I tried to tell her about the crash and burn thing eventually with this kind of thinking. She is still on the honeymoon and surely will crash eventually. She just blew me off, so I worry about her. I don't question my doctors reasoning for telling me to take the extra protein and routine on the vitamins according to my labs. Its just something one doesn't question---just do it. If not, the crash can come down so quick and do damage or take months/years to correct. Not preaching--but hope this helps newbies to understand the need for these important facets of wls. Guest guest
Should I EVER deviate from the 2 chocos you mentioned, I do ProBlend 55 vanilla. With diet root beer and ice, so it's a RB freeze, actually. That'd be my vanilla of choice. THAT doesn't happen often. Didja know there is a list dedicated to protein recipes? OK, maybe a lil silliness, too. BUt mainly protein shake recipes/ideas? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-Protein/ Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
I worked at DQ back in the olden days when a burger was a burger and a shake was a shake. We just called it a Coke float (or if blended with ice, Freeze) Thanks, Vitalady, Inc.
