Guest guest
Hi Shirley, Glad to hear you have made it to Utah with the family. You surely deserve the break and I can't wait to hear how it goes! This past week has just been so hectic because my entire family lives in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. My family in Baton Rouge are still without power and we still haven't heard from all family members in New Orleans. When I see those pictures on TV I just can't believe that it has now hit home. Anyway, on a good note, my OD called today and told me they had a last minute cancellation today and of course I jumped at the chance instead of waiting until next week. He was very pleased at the results all though he did explain to me that what he is trying to achieve with me now is a functional bite versus a perfect midline etc...Yes, a functional bite is my goal in this entire journey, but I must say I was a little crushed for just a minute knowing that I wasn't going to have that perfect bite..(haha) He did take the upper hooks off, along with changing the upper wire that was cut during surgery..YAHOOOO!!! But on that good note he had to put in the smallest bands available which are really starting to hurt like heck. He left the bottom hooks on for now. I was surely hoping today I would be able to chew at least a little more, but there is just no way right now. So I stocked back up on the Boost, yogurt, etc..Next week I have to go back to my OS for my weekly appt. He still wants to keep a close eye on things while the OD is making some movements with the upper teeth. Anyway, I am going to get off of hear and try to call some of my family in Lousiana...I will keep you posted as I find out information.
