Guest guest
Not exactly, unless you are using the term “runner” to refer to pole beans or bush beans or snap beans or string beans. Soft, green pods with small beans. These types of beans can be allowed to dry, but are normally eaten while young and green. http://urbanext.illinois.edu/veggies/beans.cfm http://growingtaste.com/vegetables/bean.shtml I know you can eat the entire pod of some varieties of runner beans when young, and have done so in the past, but I would probably consider them somewhat advanced on SCD. Runner beans have much more fiber in their pods than pole beans. I haven’t looked at the nutritional content of dried runner beans, to see how they compare with the few dried beans Elaine allowed for use on SCD, but I suspect they would be considered advanced.
