Welcome to the group. Make sure you dress your baby lighter to keep him cool.

Also consider a fan or lowering the A/C if your home is warm. You can wipe down

her head periodically if she's sweaty. Usually babies adjust their temperature

in about a week.

As for scratching, we had that problem too, and found what worked best was to

distract our baby with toys and playing when the band was off. Also when we

first took it off, we would rub her head with a dry towel to sort of " scratch

it " for her. Let us know how she does.

adjusted to it pretty well. Only thing that's bothering me is her sweaty head.

When we take off the helmet in the morning her hair is all sweaty and helmet is

kind of stinky. When we remove the helmet she scratches her head really bad. Is

there any thing I can do other than wiping the sweaty hair?

Is her head rashy with little tiny bumps? My son got this at first, and I

started cleaning his doc band with rubbing alcohol 2x/day instead of once. I

also cleaned the rashy areas with the alcohol whenever they popped up. If that

didn't work (it did work most of the time), I put a little 1% hydrocortisone

lotion on the rashy spots. I don't know if the star band is okay to use

hydrocortisone lotion with, but they approved it for use under the doc band, and

it is great for relieving itching. You can buy it at any drug store.
