Guest guest
Hi; Today I was giving Noor her dose, she takes 4 doses a week of 4u each dose. I gave her the shot in the vain as I pulled the needle out there was a stream of blood, she is fine. I just want to know the effect of this? Do I need to give her another dose? Yesterday she had another appointment with her doctor, she gained some height, better then she would have without GH, her height is 109.5 cm she is 7 yrs and 3 months and her weight is 13 kg and he was happy with her progress. Please let me advice me if I need to do anything? Regards, Kamil
Guest guest
Kamil I have never had a stream of blood come out. I didn't think the needles could go that deep! However I have had a big blob of blood come out many times (that's from hitting a capillary; different from a vein). In any case, if you can call your endo, you should. But if you can't I will tell you that my endo has said it is OK to miss the odd shot of GH (eg. an overnight trip). I wouldn't begin to guess what would happen if you accidentally double dosed him with the GH. that I have never heard of. If you can't get your endo to speak to; I would error on the side of caution and forget the dose--it is no big deal to miss one. But if you can, you should call. Guest guest
Are you sure you hit a vein? You can hit a blood vessel, but I did not think the needles were long enough or strong enough to puncture a vein. I have given Max shots where it has bled. I used to worry until Dr. H. told me what was going on. She explained about the blood vessel thing and said it was okay. The only effect it had on Max was that he had a black and blue mark a day later. Jodi Z
