- Congrats on your 160 wt loss!! As for the coldness, that is a

commonality for me and I'm 2 1/2 years out. Even my husband (who was always

complaining of being hot) is stealing my blankets and wearing sweats and

sweatshirts all the time. We are without our insulation. Some people get over

it....some of us (Vitalady included) are always freezing.....

Hope this helps.

Tina (jelly bean toes) & Sheriff too!

Cold Extremities

Hi All,

I am having a terrible time with my hands and feet, but especially my

feet always being like blocks of ice. They do not change color, but

most of the time are cold. I didn't wear sandals much last summer

cause my feet were always cold. I attributed this to the rapid

weight loss but I am almost 17 months out. I need to have labs done

again in March but last labs were great which were done in Sept 03.

I was bypassed 120 cm and have lost 160 lbs, I am still losing

although at a snails pace now. I exercise at least 30 minutes

everyday and drink 5 yummy chocolate stack shakes with water only. I

am frustrated with my blocks of ice and am now starting to worry a

bit since it hasn't gotten better.

Do I need to worry? Any ideas as to what might be the problem? I

had thought that I heard at one time it was related to protein

deficiency but I think I have that base covered with the number that

I do. Any ideas, advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you been checked for Raynaud's? My onset was about age 34. My son

is always experiencing feet that won't stay warm. He's just about 34.

It didn't get REALLY bothersome until last summer when my foot surgery

simply would not heal. I have a small booboo from 3 weeks ago that

still looks fresh. No blood supply, no healing.

Thanks,

, although this pretty much goes with the territiory, keep an

eye on your iron, too. Hopefully, you've been getting copies of your

labs so you can check for trends...don't expect your doctor to do it,

and iron is one of those things that tends to go slip-sliding away

over the years.

,

How's your vitamin B-12 level? Vitamom will have more info for you too;

there are other causes outside the realm of various deficiencies in

supplementation.
