Guest guest
Hi , I am sorry this is happening to you! You have been through just incredible amounts of surgery with this, and I am hoping they can get a handle and control over this infection. I know how important it is to keep your spirits up, and that is something you have become and expert at. I will be thinking of you, and will watch for how your Dec 1st surgery goes. Are you on some antibiotic courses until then? I continue to fight the ever lasting infection, i'm still swollen on one side badly. I will have a CT scan done December 1st and I will be admitted into hospital that day too as I will be having surgery the following day!!! My surgeon will be taking a look inside to see how everything looks, and he will be draining the infection out and removing some plates and screws. He will also act on what he sees on the scan. > > > > He won't be able to do anything else because of the high risk of infection! > > > > > > > > > > > > .p. > > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi Fran, I sure hope that this time they will be able to get a hold of the infection and get rid of it! It's important to keep your spirits up. I have been off the antiniotics for a few weeks as I had enough and I had been on them for so long and my body needed a rest.My surgeon agreed that it was a waste of time being on antibiotics at the time because they weren't doing anything for the infection. But he did say that he wants me back on the antibiotics ready for the surgery that will miniminse the risk of another infection! Thanks Fran! fran wrote: Hi , I am sorry this is happening to you! Guest guest
Hi , I hope everything works out well for you in December. It's a hard enough surgery without having to deal with anything extra like infections. I'll be thinking about you and hope that you have a swift recovery. Take care, Pam > > > Hello! > > > > I had my surgery May 2005 and have had stormy post-op. I continue to fight the ever lasting infection, i'm still swollen on one side badly. Guest guest
, Just thought I would give you some info on what helped me with an infection I had..I did hyperbaric chamber treatments and the infection went away..I had been on antibiotics for months and it did not work..this chamber is also good for bone healing and cell reproducing espec if you are having another surgery..it worked for me!!!! Look up hyperbaric chambers on google and you can research more...just a thought and something you may want to tell your OS..its costly but helps for sure...if you have insurance Im sure they will pay for it...I had to lay in them 20 visit at 2 hrs each visit prior to my surgery and 10 visit after my surgery at 2 hrs each visit..my surgeron said all the infection was gone (he noticed during my surgery) #4..which is a long story on the reason for all the surgeries... just thought I would mention something that helped me with infection and healing Jill Penketh wrote: Hi Fran, I sure hope that this time they will be able to get a hold of the infection and get rid of it! Guest guest
- Sorry to hear that you are going into surgery once again, but maybe your surgeon will finally be able to get rid of your infection. Does he plan to send some samples of the infection to the Microbiology Lab? They could culture (grow) the organisms and identify them, and give you the antibiotic that has the best chance of killing it, once and for all. I work in a hospital laboratory, and this is done on a daily basis. Ask your surgeon if he plans on doing this; maybe the antibiotics you've been taking weren't specific enough to kill off the organism that's the cause of your infections. Just a thought. Take care of yourself. ~~~ Diane (Idaho) > > > Hello! > > > > I had my surgery May 2005 and have had stormy post-op.
