Guest guest
, Jodi Z is right get to the ER stat! And don't let them bully you into being discharged. I always end up calling Dr. H when I'm in the ER so she can tell the ER docs NOT TO DISCHARGER HER!!! They can be very difficult but stand your ground. Good luck keep us posted. Is this an emergency that I should call someone else to get us to the emergency room? What does having ketones in their system do to them? What do I say to the doctors? Anyone that knows anything please! I feel so sick to my stomach. > My husband is a med tech and I'm typing this as he's relating it to me. Showing keytones in urine means that your body is feeding off itself (muscles and other tissues). This is a normal condition when you diet, but more than a trace amount can be serious. It should be checked into immediately. The quickest way to stop it is to get the child to eat. But since RSS children don't eat, or don't eat enough, then supplements may be in order. You can call the emergency room at a local hospital and tell them the results. Someone there should be able to answer whether or not you need to bring in the child.
