Hey, I'm getting that expander thing in on Thursday when they take

this splint out. Im 5 weeks post-op and had upper, lower and my palate

widened. I was told I would have to wear the expander for three weeks.

Is this the same with everyone and what is it like to have it in? I'm

sick of things being in my mouth! But as long as this splint is out I

don't care. Why do you have to turn it if you already had your palate

widened in surgery? thanks tonya

hi Tonya.

congratulations on being post op! i too had upper/lower/ palatal

expansion 3 years ago. i did have a splint though i didnt need the

expander. im not sure whether this depends on the extent of the

surgery and or your surgeons preferrances. Someone will be able to

fill you in on this im sure. having the splint out is the best

thing!!

kind regards and best wishes for your recovery.
