Guest guest
Someone mentioned not long ago that [she] had lots of joint pain caused by too many probiotics. (Maybe I don't know how to do it, but I have searched and searched and can't find that post.) I have a BIG pain across the top of my left arm. I wouldn't have thought it to be the joint, but maybe it is. I am not very good at finding causes (even though I have been doing the food/symptom diary for about a month now), but I seem to react to the yogurt once in awhile, when I have a little more than usual, the third time being just this last weekend. Got a severe headache. I also got concerned because my probiotic had bifidus in it, so ordered SCDophilus from GIPro Health. I am just wondering if I got too much of the " good " bacteria. Why is it so hard to just come up with what works? I feel like one of those Marilyn talked about in her lecture, " others with a bewildering array of complex issues " . It's hard to separate what's just symptoms of aging (57 y/0) and what's symptoms related to IBS. Times of extreme stress have made me sit up and take notice. I went milk free about 3 years ago (still had cheese, yogurt, and an occasional ice cream). Tremendous immediate results. Still the nagging gas and bloating, sometimes associated with pain. Gluten free a year ago, no real benefit there. Found SCD in June, following it DF (goat's milk yogurt), gas and bloating mostly gone, lost 10 pounds, still up and down on the big C. Have struggled with panic, depression, brain fog but maybe that's more related to menopause and here to stay. Thank you all for your time on this group. I've learned a lot and appreciate all your comments.
Guest guest
, I wrote recently about joint pain only on one joint on my left ring finger. I did not attribute it to probiotics but an episode of illness- some D, a UTI, brought on probably by the stress of my father's recent death where I was lax in taking some meds and ate too many lara bars. I am thankfully doing much better now. X rays of the joint are normal so it is not autoimmune arthritis as I had feared. It is most likely a bit of mild osteoarthrits- the " older age " problem that causes a joint to get thicker. It does not hurt, but now my husband has the " problem " of buying me a new wedding ring since the old one does not fit, and I am expecting a really really nice one!!! hee hee. So yes, some of our problems will be age related, like menopause, and yes we can get normal things too like other people too- the occasional headache or whatever and it is hard to tell what is what. Times of stress are inevitable and we have to cope with them too. I find a food diary is the best was to uncover a pattern of sensitivity to something, but it is hard sometimes.
