Guest guest
Cyndy, I had this problem BIG TIME post-op. Used to drive me nuts. I had a humidifier in my room and that helped alleviate the congestion some what. When I couldn't take it anymore I used to stick my face right into the humidifier or take a hot shower so that the hot vapors could release some of the congestion in my nose and thus lessen the pressure on my ears. Nothing really made the pressure go away permanently except for time unfortunately. Also, this is going to sound grosse but since I really couldn't blow my nose post-op I would clean it out with a cutip. Ick, I know, but it certainly did the trick and allowed me to breathe a little better and therefore have less pressue in my ears. Hold on tight, it will get better soon, I promise! Guest guest
Sara- I'll try the humidifier in my room. Anything to make this better. Sometimes when I get up fast the room spins - obviously my poor inner ears are really getting pressure put on those tubes. I've also been trying to keep water out of my ears, because that makes it worse too. Thanks for the suggestions! Cyndy sazymania <no_reply > wrote: Cyndy, I had this problem BIG TIME post-op. Guest guest
Just a question, and sorry to butt in on your conversation. I was just wondering, such Sara said that a humidifier eases the congestion and helps with the ears, would BreathRight Strips help too? I've never used them, but I know that they're supposed to help ease congestion. Maybe you could try those? Guest guest
I know a few people here on the message board have tried the breatheright strips and they have worked so that's a great suggestion connie. i personally didn't use them because my nose felt too sore to have anything touching it, it bothered me. But I had an upper le forte where the nose is more affected. perhaps the breatheright strips are good for people who have had lower only or are less sensitive than me:-) And you certainly weren't butting into the conversation but providing very useful advice!
