Guest guest
The orthodontics are easily taken care of. most orthodontist have a payment plan. I wouldn't let the cost stop you from proceeding with that. Also, you might try a dental school, it takes awhile to get started with them but it is usually a lot cheaper. I found out wonderful news about my surgery on Friday. I went to the hospital where I am having it done and applied for financial aid/a location discount. The finance person was wonderful and ended up giving me a 68% discount on my surgery because insurance won't cover it. It makes everything more manageable - $3,000 instead of $12,000. Check into all of your options before you move forward. good luck. estevlop1 wrote: I need to have orthodontics as well as orthognathic surgery, but the cost of it is stopping me. I have a symmetry problem with my jaw that is becoming more and more visible as the years pass.I am a student, I don't have any health insurance, and I make very little money because i'm in school. I like many others who have the same problem hate to take pictures and i can never fully smile because i'm so self conscious. I wish there was some way to get the surgery without incuring a horrendous amount of debt that I cannot afford. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear it. Guest guest
Insurance does cover this type of surgery. If you have health insurance, I would suggest making an appt. with an oral surgeon and see what he/she thinks. estevlop1 wrote:I need to have orthodontics as well as orthognathic surgery, but the cost of it is stopping me.
