Guest guest
Isn't there anyone out there who had GOOD experiences with the hernia repai/tummy tuck? I am scheduled for one December 19 and you guys are scaring me to death! Please, someone respond with some good news!? Guest guest
I had a 9 " hernia repair (!!) and TT on November 3rd... almost two years after my RNY. I probably wouldn't have had the TT yet because I am still losing weight, albeit slowly, but since my insurance agreed to pay for it along with the Hernia repair, I decided to go for it. I was told that it would be harder than my RNY.. and it probably was... My surgeon usually puts a urinary catheter in for TT/Hernia's because he says that people are usually too sore to want to get up that night. I opted to ask him not to do that. I was glad. I was able to be up and about that night. Yes, I had pain.. but I could deal with it. I DID have a drain in for three weeks (just out two days ago).. I had an infection develop at about a week and a half out.. was glad that the drain was in... antibiotics helped, the infection knocked me on my ass for a while, but as I said, I am just three weeks out and am doing well. My doc removed 12 pounds of excess skin.. I was surprised at the difference it made in my size. Yes, I would do it again... it WAS more difficult than my RNY.. but at three weeks out I am functioning normally, sleeping on my tummy, and doing well... I start school on Monday and anticipate no problems. Hard? Yup. Worth it? Yup. Do it again? Yup. Glad its over? YUP! Guest guest
Good news, I healed nicely! I think once everything calms down...you know...all the stitches under the skin and the swelling goes down I will be very, very happy with the results. Right now, I have a sinus infection...nothing to do with the TT. Just take it easy. Not much moving around (different then when they want you walking after WLS)...just rest and enjoy the meds. <grin> Debbie & in Gig Harbor (170cm medial) ladybostons@... http://www.cafeshops.com/copsstore http://www.marykay.com/debbiemcneice -----Original Message----- From: cliffmel321 Isn't there anyone out there who had GOOD experiences with the hernia repai/tummy tuck?
