Guest guest
Hello. On Friday (8/26) I had Bilateral Sagittal Spilt Osteotomy with mandible rotation. I had to stay the night in the hospital and was discharged on Saturday. The first 2 days I have to say were the worst, my nose was all stuffy, my lips were all goopy and all cut up and I was so swollen. Now it is day 4 and I feel way better. The swelling has gone down but not that much, my nose is clearing up and my lips are finally not digusting (the inside of my mouth is though with all the cuts. I have been icing my jaw almost non stop since Saturday night (my doctor said I couldn't ice it enough) and I only had to take my pain medicine once today. Is this normal to feel this much better on day 4? I know everyone is different but if anyone out there (which I am sure there is plenty)has had this surgery will you let me know how your recovery period went? I see my doctor on Thursday and hope to hear some good news and such. I also have only been eating mashed potatoes and peas through a syringe (I liquifey them in the blender) and drinking smoothies and such. I am a vegetarian so I am not so sure what to make to eat. If anyone has any suggestion please let me know. Thanks.. milkgirl10
